Remember the glory of oriya

Postby akash » Oct 24th, '06, 17:36

Lets recall the glory of our state in different passion

One person has to put the name or objects related to previous name or objects(like famous temple or architecture )

But the name should be related to orissa as well as its glory and the person who is posting the name have to give the reason why the name is related to earlier.

For example Suppose the earlier name is Dharmapada

related name or object -----> Konark temple

Reason ------> according to history Dharmapada has played a great role in building the temple

But remember this is not a game but an interesting way to remember our past as well as recent glories.

why u guys still talk about false glory OF orissa i.e. konark/puri etc. etc. in the age of competitive 21st century life-world, where the major talk of the town is not that what as some of our friends still claim 2 remember as our glorious past. as one supposed 2 find our one's stand point through this larger Samaja or society. so gone r the days where one still need 2 fall back on such false glory. so i m inviting each members of this network for a open deliberation on this debate of our own understanding shake. slightly deviating from main content, i would like 2 delve a bit on our last 72 years of silence baring a few successful social movements like Bhita- Mati Bachao Andolan at Baliapal, Balasore. though we had HAREKRUSHNA MAHATAB and later part it is non other than Biju Babu's charismatic industrialization furor. living in this so-called tech-no-savvy world, not necessarily one needs to fall back on such false glory of orissa. i hope it is time 2 just think and act upon slightly in a modern way. ...i hope u guys would bear with such postings of mine, as this is just the begining of my association with this forum......

No doubt we should not forget "glory of oriya" but over a time we forgot who we are? and what we should do for our society.Though we have all the resources for progress but lagging right attitude for developement of our society. We Oriya as a whole should unite together to make orissa a developed state in all aspect and better place to live
Remembering glory wont help if we cant progress in the present age
Lets recall our glory and reflect it in the present progress then no body can stop us for developement of Orissa

Odisha has a glorious past and we all know that very well. Some of my friends have argued abt false glory etc. I would request them to think twice before expressing this kind of statements. It has lost it s glory bcos of we Odias. We Odias are cowards; literate idiots; do not even have guts to openely shout/accept that I am an Odia. I do ask you people: how many times from your childhood days have you shown interest in Odisha's development (atleast have seriopusly thought once) or have proudly told people fron other state/country about the acheivments/developments and the unique strength of Odisha. Just you think once and try to realise that whatever u r, it is bcos of Odisha; you have got the inner strenthg from Odisha; may be you got the opprotunity to earn money in other cities; but how did u reach that stage of being eligible for a job??? Do not you feel it is your responsibility now to contribute (could be of any form) to ur state/people when u r in a stage to delover in some way???

I met some guys from Mumbai while I was in UK; I was surprised to hear that their Odia friends have told them that there is nothing great in Odisha. Even I was questioned what is there unique abt Odisha. They were speechless when they got the exposure of rthe eastern state in terms of religion, infrastructure, investment, growth etc and obviously some snaps.

Every one takes the snap of poor people, half naked tribals etc and worls get the exposure of that or the communal riots etc though news. How many of us shared photos of great and unique tourist places like Bhitarkanika, Chillika etc.. or the infrastructre like roads, parks, wildlife of our capital BBSR??? Atleast people who visit and take a good snap can share with portals which are having old and not so interesting photos.

Many of our friends have openly expressed their disatsifaction using the terms like false glory etc... I ask them to count the number of persons (from other state) they come across who speak against their state/native/capital.

Hay Friends,
I m new on this forum but By reading these articles I have a desire to post my view.

We should always look Back to our glorious Past while growing forward to this digital world. Without Sun temple, Without Lingaraj, Without "Bhagabata" where is that orissa?
Can U imagine that?
In this world of computers Orissa can not be compared with the most advanced country America. But it should not be. Because the calture which is in our blood can not be inherited to Americans. Orissa is now not confirmed with the teritoral boarders of 30 districts. It spreads all over the world. But the mater is that we should recognised by others by oriya. We should feel proud to be an Oriya.

Since may develop to any extent but can not give birth to a "Pathani Samanta".
